You are welcome to return or exchange your order within 7 days of the date of delivery providing the goods are in their original condition. You will be held responsible for the shipping costs when returning goods. Once we have received the goods in their original condition you will be reimbursed/sent your new product. We will not accept any returns on custom orders unless they are damaged or faulty on our behalf.
  • How do I care for my product?
Wipe your table/board after each use with a warm soapy cloth. Allow to air dry before packing away. Depending on how frequently your table/board is used, oil once every 4-6 weeks, or when it feels dry to the touch. Simply use a cloth to apply the oil/wax evenly on the table (legs included). Let the table stand and allow to dry for 24 hours. Wipe off any excess oil thereafter. Fine Pine uses a locally sourced Food Grade Mineral Oil. With your purchase you will receive a small tester bottle of the oil to use on your table. Other products we recommend you use is a beeswax based cream or coconut oil. Do not let your table/board stand in water - this will cause the wood to warp and splinter. Avoid any bleach to your table/board as this will dry out the wood and could potentially stain your product. Do not let your table/board stay outdoors overnight/while not in use for long periods of time. If this happens, it will shorten the lifespan of your table due to weather damage.
  • What woods do you use?
For our Picnic Range primarily use Meranti and Birchwood. We are able to source different woods if required by the client. Meranti Wood ages to a golden brown colour. Meranti is a hardwood and is extremely versatile making it perfect for decorative purposes. Due to its stability it can be used for a wide variety of applications. Meranti is perfect for molding, structure, furniture, cabinets and veneers. Birchwood is fine-grained and pale in colour, often with an attractive satin like sheen and is used exclusively for furniture-making. This highly decorative wood has ripple textures combined with attractive dark streaks and lines. Birchwood is made from laminations of birch veneer. It is light but strong, and has many other good properties. It is among the strongest and dimensionally most stable plywoods and is very flexible. For our Premium Carving Boards, we make use of solid African hardwoods depending on the availability. We do not use any laminated woods for our Premium Carving Boards. Woods used could include Sapele Mahogany, African Walnut and Kiaat and will always be specified. These woods are perfect for carving meats as they are extremely durable and reliable.
